BIBLE: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth - In scripture, we hear God speaking to us! So the Church in her wisdom has selected readings for each day of the year. Whether we study the Daily Scripture Readings (Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese Website) OR get the Daily Readings App (Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America - Department of Internet Ministries) and do it in a planned way or a random one, the point is that we need to be reading scripture on a daily basis. It is the best way to “hear” God speaking to us. It is His love letter to us. Who takes a trip without a map? We may have the map on the phone now rather than a book in the car, but the fact is no one makes an important journey without a guide. The most important journey we take in life is our journey to salvation. The Bible is the map. Without it, we can‘t make the journey. With it, the journey becomes more successful. The Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, written down by people of God. It is best to read an “annotated” Bible, meaning, a Bible that has study notes on the bottom of each page, to help us better understand what we are reading (i.e. The Orthodox Study Bible)

LA BIBLE c’est la Parole du Dieu vivant. Le premier canal de communication du Père avec Ses enfants. Même si elle a été écrite par des hommes, elle n’en demeure pas moins la Parole de Dieu. Dieu a inspiré chacun de ses auteurs pour nous parler. Ainsi, l’Église dans sa sagesse nous invite à lire La Bible tous les jours. Que nous lisions une version papier de La Bible (La Sainte Bible - Nouvelle version Segond révisée OU La Bible TOB, traduction œcuménique), ou que nous consultions une application sur Androïde et iOS (« BIBLE » DE YOUVERSION; Bible d’étude Segond 21 OU Bible par Olive Tree), et ce, de façon planifiée ou aléatoire, nous devons lire les Écritures tous les jours parce que Dieu veut nous éduquer par Sa loi, nous bénir par Sa parole et nous apprendre à le craindre. Il est toujours préférable de lire une Bible « annotée », pour nous aider à mieux comprendre ce que nous lisons (Ac 8, 26-40).
